PAI’s Annual Corporate Governance Conference 2022: Corporate Sustainability – Supporting Green Policy in Corporate Strategy
Public Affairs Ireland is delighted to announce our Corporate Governance Conference programme for 2022. This half day in-person event will take place on Thursday, 20 October from the Goldsmith Hall of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Golden Lane.
The event is timely, given that the EU is set to adopt the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive’s first set of standards in October 2022 which will support a European Green Deal. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting is now a major feature of corporate responsibility. The momentum has increased for organisations to address sustainability and to educate its board members on the importance and value of embedding sustainable practices into its initiatives.
The focus on ESG Reporting and disclosures will challenge many boards, no more so in the current climate where the climate crisis has exacerbated the requirement to place ESG at the top of the corporate agenda.
There is an onus and responsibility to educate organisations and boards on the required knowledge involved to embed sustainability practices and to identify areas of improvement and opportunities
to increase and improve initiatives. There is also the challenge of managing and identifying sustainability risk while remaining compliant.
PAI’s 2022 Public Sector Corporate Governance conference brings together a panel of governance experts to reflect and discuss themes that are timely amidst the backdrop of an ever-growing focus on the global Climate Crisis, exploring themes including:
- The Role of the Board: Educating Members on Embedding Sustainability and Monitoring Progress
- Measuring Sustainability and Improving Corporate Social Responsibility: Identifying Gaps and
- Opportunities for Sustainable Change
- Implementing ESG: Managing Change and Transition
- Understanding Sustainability Risk and Compliance
