Open Call for Proposals: Autumn 2019/ Spring 2020
Westmeath Libraries is currently creating a panel of facilitators for the provision of STEAM activities as part of the library’s programming for Autumn 2019/Spring 2020. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics.
Facilitators will be required to provide a diverse range of programming in 7 libraries and in community partner locations throughout the County.
In Autumn 2019, facilitators will work with a diverse range of groups ranging from the library, schools, resource centres, and after school clubs. The facilitators may be working with children from ages 4- 14 years or with family groups.
Facilitated sessions will run for a minimum of 1 hour.
We are seeking facilitators who can offer a diverse range of STEAM activities including sessions on: Coding, Robotics, Fun Science, Virtual Reality, Electronics, K’NEX, and Creative Technologies.

Proposals should be no longer than 1 x A4 page and should:
- Clearly indicate facilitator availability from mid-September onwards
- Include all costs (inclusive of travel)
- Provide a clear indication the following:
- minimum/maximum numbers or participants
- preferred age groups
- specific space requirements
- essential facilities
- evaluation methodologies for participants
Please confirm if you are supplying all materials needed for the activity and where possible, please provide testimonials or reference to other organisations with whom you have worked.
As you will be working with children, please confirm that you comply with appropriate legislation with regards to Health and Safety and Children First. If successful, candidates will be required to meet Westmeath County Council requirements for Garda Vetting.
