Seeking submissions Westmeath Joint Policing Committee (JPC) Strategic Work Plan 2020-2025

A Joint Policing Committee (JPC) is a body established under the Garda Siochana Act

2005 to serve as a forum where local authority representatives, Oireachtas members and community and voluntary interests, together with senior Garda Officers responsible for the policing of the county, consult, discuss and make recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the county. Through the work of the JPC all parties have the opportunity to contribute to the improved safety and quality of life of the community.

The JPC is coming to the end of it current Strategic Plan and is now putting together Westmeath Joint Policing Committee (JPC) Strategic Work Plan 2020-2025.  Westmeath PPN sought and gave submissions to the JPC in October 2019, these were listened to and broadly included in the attached Consultation Template for the development of the (JPC) Strategic Work Plan 2020-2025 under 5 Strategic Goal

1. Misuse of drugs, alcohol and related crimes

2. Community Policing

3. Prevention of Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour

4. Public Safety and Victim Support

5. Road Safety

WPPN is now consulting with its member groups for input as to how these Strategic Goals can be implemented by suggesting Actions Plans.

In the attached document are the 5 Strategic Goals and some suggested Actions to achieve these goals.

Please can you forward suggested additional actions the WPPN can include on behalf of its member groups.

All suggested actions should be e-mailed to Brigid Geoghegan info@westmeathppn.ie by Sunday 15th December 2019.
