10) Young people considering emigration for better quality of life than in Ireland, survey finds

National Youth Council of Ireland calls for action from Government so young people aren’t overlooked in Budget. More than 7 in 10 young people aged 18-24 are considering moving abroad because they think they would enjoy a better quality of life elsewhere, according to research carried out by RED C on behalf of the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI), which was published.

11) Call for more people to make an Enduring Power of Attorney

Safeguarding Ireland has called for a major increase in the number of adults making an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA), in order to safeguard and reduce adult abuse. New research by RED C has found that just 6% of Irish adults have an EPA in place – which leaves people at greater risk of abuse and exploitation if they lack capacity to make decisions due to illness, disability or frailty.

16) 11 migrant women share their stories of activism in Ireland as part of new arts project

The Immigrant Council of Ireland has launched a new project aiming to give migrant women a voice and share their stories of activism in Ireland. The Library of Migrant Women is a participatory arts project featuring a collection of 11 stories, written by well-known and emerging female migrant activists in Ireland about the social issues that affect them and their work to transform their life and the lives of those around them. The stories explore topics including voters’ education, anti-racism and community health care.

55) A New Sense of Home: A study into Ireland’s approach to the distribution and integration of asylum seekers after they leave the direct provision system
