Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands are collaborating with Atlantic Technological University (ATU) to measure and monitor sustainable tourism, using a blend of global and EU standards (GSTC, UNWTO, EU, SDGs) as these systems are internationally recognised. The ATU is independently gathering data by way of three surveys to inform the system: visitors, residents and enterprises. The visitor survey is complete (2022).
The resident surveys are the next stage and you are invited to participate. The survey can be accessed here, or through scanning the QR code below.
The survey is completely confidential (no personal data is collected from participants). But the data that is gathered will be a key to us gaining a holistic understanding of where the Heartlands stands as regards sustainable tourism. This data will be shared and distributed, published once complete and will be third party verified through the ATU. While the online survey is rolling, ATU will also have researchers on the ground, collecting data directly.
The survey is open to any resident within Fáilte Ireland’s regional brand of ‘Irelands Hidden Heartlands’.
