We are seeking Nominations – PPN Representatives for Strategic Policy Committees
Become a PPN Representative & be part of a collective voice for Community in Co. Westmeath.
One role of the PPN is to provide a nominating structure to elect community representatives to local decision-making committees. Members Groups registered with the PPN are being invited to nominate one group representative for future positions on Strategic Policy Committees. PPN Representatives bring of local knowledge and expertise into the decision-making arena.

- Economic Development, Agriculture & Tourism
- Environment, Climate, Rural Water & Emergency
- Housing, Community, Culture, Recreation
- Planning, Regeneration & Transport
Strategic Policy Committees bring together both elected members and people actively working with social, community/voluntary, economic, cultural, business and environmental bodies to assist in the work of the committees.
The role of the Strategic Policy Committees is to consider and advise the Corporate Policy Group and the full Council.
The Strategic Policy Committee advise on matters connected with the formulation, development, monitoring and review of policy which relate to the functions of the Council, and which are linked to the Corporate Plan. These Committees usually meet at least four times a year in County Buildings during weekday working hours.
